Our franchisee of the week is daddy awesomeness, Pierre Lombard!
Pierre is not only a Super-Dad of two, but he’s also a super franchisee who heads up seven of our Montagu franchises in the northern suburbs of Cape Town: Canal Walk, Cape Gate, Paarl Mall, Tyger Valley Centre, Old Rembrandt, Wellington and Okavango Crossing.
Pierre grew up in a restaurant / shopping mall environment, assisting his Dad with his business. Around 6 years ago he started researching various franchise options to grow the business. Then, 5 years ago, he came across Montagu Dried Fruit and Nuts and CEO, Hannes Jansen – the rest, as they say, is history… a very fortunate and grateful history!
He says the Montagu brand offers something that most people want: a healthier lifestyle. Most of their stores give you the feeling that you have stepped out of a luxurious shopping mall and into the town of Montagu with images of mountains, trees and nature.
Pierre was born and raised in Cape Town. He married his college girlfriend, and together they have an almost 4 year old son and an almost 1 year old daughter. In his own words, “Life changes when you have kids!”
His favourite Montagu products are: Pistachios, Pistachios, Pistachios! Then the Nuts-Raisin-Berry-Seed mix, dried mangos, cashews and almonds.
Pierre says that passion and glory for and from business needs to be equally maintained at home, so as far as he possibly can, he makes time with his family as often as possible. When they get the odd chance to go away or take a break it’s usually ‘off the grid’ up in the mountains. He has 3 surf boards that are ageing well, and hopefully when Toddler Duty dissipates, the surfing lessons can commence. If it snows in or around the Western Cape he is the first to know about it and when it happens, he’ll generally be off-roading in it.
